Last year my mum pulled some of her old art supplies out of hiding. Apparently she had tried her hand at lino-cutting for a birth announcement card for my older sister. Well that turned out to be her first and last project, and 23 years later she handed her kit over to me. This was my first project: a robot stamp. I cut a few pieces of cardstock to business card size (2”x3”) and went nuts.
It turned out the blue colour was oil based, and I made a complete and utter mess of my tools and workspace. In general the 24 year old paint was pretty shit — separating and/or pretty dried out — and the lino was rock-solid (also age related?)… but I had a lot of fun!
I bought some new lino recently, but haven’t gotten around to carving. Lino-cutting was another gate-way craft to paper cutting. Turns out I like knives. ;)
I’ve started an Art tumblr. :)
Most recent work. :)

what’s it for??
You can hang it on the wall and hang things from it (like cards) or stand it on a shelf and use it as a photo stand or something. :)
I bought this giant clothespin for $1 at a thrift store, and painted it this lovely spring green! :D

My new tea tumbler design. It’s one of those scratch-and-reveal-rainbow ones. Now featuring flying whales, sky cities, and beautiful quotes. :)
It’s also “miniature” - an 8 oz cup - perfectly purse-sized for on-the-go days.
Some paper cut gift tags. Just some fun experiments. :)
I made business cards! Not that they’re very professional. At least not in all circles…
My reading week art project: refurbishing Tetley Tea canisters. I think they turned out rather well. :)
